Before vaccination, after vaccination or if you have had the coronavirus, we recommend an antibody test from intravenous blood to determine the amount of antibody in your body, from which protection against coronavirus can be inferred.
The antibody concentration is given in the WHO International Standard Units of Measurement:
BAU/ml = Binding Antibody Units per ml
We recommend this antibody test (Centaur test) in the following cases:
- Measure antibody levels regularly and if they drop, consider a vaccination.
- After the administration of the coronavirus vaccine(s), by which time full immunity is expected to have developed. Antibody measurement will show whether the appropriate level of antibodies against the SARS-CoV2 virus has been established. Sampling is recommended taking into account the immunity period for different vaccines.
- If you have had a positive PCR-confirmed coronavirus infection – so you can find out how much protection you have.
- If you think you may have had the disease in the past, but this is not confirmed by a PCR test – antibody testing can be used to confirm whether you have had the infection.

Using an antibody test for protection against venous blood (also called a serological test, or Centaur test), the laboratory tests for the presence of an S-RBD IgG antibody against the SARS-CoV-2 virus produced by the body. It should not be confused with the rapid serological test, which does not give a quantitative result and cannot be used to apply for a security certificate.
In contrast to rapid tests,this examination can be used to determine the amount of antibody, from which protection against coronavirus can be inferred.
